Ivan Turner lives his life flying under the radar. Despite a tense relationship with his father, he portrays a peaceful demeanor at school. After witnessing an abusive relationship at the homecoming dance, Ivan’s home-life suddenly overlaps with his school life, and he decides he’s been quiet for too long. His composed personality quickly slips away, and soon everyone will know Ivan’s name.

Still Holding On follows a day-in-the-life of an 11-year-old boy named Oliver and his inseparable friend, a plush stuffed lion named Rory. After numerous encounters of people pushing Oliver to get rid of Rory - kids at school, the school counselor, his brother's sister, and ultimately himself - Oliver finds himself conflicted and ashamed for holding on to the one thing he cares about most.
